I wanted to share a testimony with you about what God has done in our lives. Lori and I have always tithed, given 10% of what we make to our church, and God has been faithful to always meet our needs. Last year God put this crazy thought into my head, “Why not tithe what you want to make.” I had to let that rattle around in my brain for awhile. ‘Tithe what I want to make.’
I have always been faithful to give God a percentage of what he has given me, but now I was thinking, “Why should I wait for God to bless me more, before I give him more, why not tithe on the income I would like to make?” So I did just that, I set an amount that was way above what we were projected to make. Something that I thought was comfortable for us to live on. Then I took 10% of that and began giving that each month as if that was our income.
We got our W2’s the other day and guess what?????? We ended up making to within a few hundred dollars of what I had been tithing
I don’t know how, I don’t know where, but God completely blessed our income this year.
Does this mean that if you increase your tithe God will match it? Probably not like our story, but God will match the money and bless you all around. His blessing doesn’t always come back in money, sometimes it is bills that have been reduced or helping your car run a little longer. We have had many other major bills in the past year get reduced drastically when it was all done. It was like God’s favor was upon us.
You can’t out give God. He will never run out of his resources. He will never let your gift go unnoticed or unrewarded, He will bless you when you give out of a cheerful heart
