I could really use a prayer if you think about me over the next few weeks. For those of you who may not know, I suffer from a disease called Crohns. It effects the intestines and makes life rather difficult. I have lived with it for almost 5 years now and have adjusted the best that I can. It hasn’t been easy, but I have managed to live with it and deal with it’s symptoms. That all changed 5 weeks ago. My Crohn’s has taken a turn for the worse and it has been really difficult. The last 5 weeks have been the toughest time in my life. I guess I never thought a disease like this could shut my life down, but it almost has. I have never felt more defeated, more humiliated, and more depressed, than I have over the past month.
So this is where you come in, I could use some prayer support in my life. My doctor has become more aggressive with me. I have been through Cat scans, X-rays, ultra-sounds (and I’m not pregnant so that is good:-) and enough blood work to drain me dry. I am hoping to start a new medication that I take through an infusion, I have to be hooked up to an IV for 4-6 hours as they administer the medicine. I will do that 3 times the first 6 weeks. It is not cheap either, but others that I have talked to have had success.
I don’t know when I can begin the medication, I still have some chest X-rays that I need to get back and some more blood work to see if my body can handle the medicine. We were going to try another medicine, but the lab said that my body was too weak to handle it, so I am hoping this 2nd medicine will work.
Monday, I also have an appointment with a friend of ours who is a chiropractor. Studies have shown that there could be connections between this illness & the spine.
So, sorry so long, but I wanted to give you some history. Please pray that I can take the medicine, afford the medicine and for comfort for the next 6 to 8 weeks until the medicine takes effect. Luckily I am on a project at Disney that gives me flexibility to go to the bathroom when I need, but that project will end soon and then I will be back to other shows that will not allow me to go whenever I need
I would like to have this under control before that time.
OMG I just typed a whole thing about you going to a chiropractor and then re-read your blog and you ARE going.
I am a proselytizer when it comes to chiropractic care. I believe there is a link between pretty much every illness and the spine, because our spinal cord tells our organs how to function and when there is pressure on it then it can’t do it’s job. It just makes logical sense.
This is a really odd testimonial, but Danny always had extremely dry skin on his lower back. After we started getting adjusted I swear it is like Olive’s butt now!
Of course that is not why we started going, but just one of the things where there was a really visible difference.
I am praying!!!
